2021 YEAR END REVIEW

The Millersburg Fire Company #1 closes out the year 2021 with the following Activity Report. The Company responded to a total of 212 calls. Of these calls 164 of the responses were for fire assistance (fires, accidents, public assistance, etc.) and 48 were emergency medical responses. The fire company responded to 119 calls in Upper Paxton Township, 51 calls in Millersburg Borough, and 42 mutual aid calls to surrounding municipalities.

Personnel contributed 7602.55 documented man-hours to company operations. Of these hours members trained 2201.4 man-hours. Training accounted for 29%, followed by Alarms 26%, Administrative Functions 22% with the remainder being made up from work details, apparatus maintenance, cleaning, public service events, etc.

Major accomplishments to note this past year were:
-Completion of the refurbishment of Engine 20
-Sponsoring the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Water Rescue Emergency Response Course
-Purchase of a Forcible Entry Prop for firefighter training
-Sponsoring of the Pennsylvania Entry Level Firefighter Program courses: Introduction to the Fire Service, Fireground Support, Exterior Firefighter, and Interior Firefighter
-Purchase of 22 Draeger Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus by the Relief Association to replace current SCBA which are 17 years old. The company will take delivery and place these in service in early 2022.
