Millersburg Fire Company units were kept busy this afternoon with three separate motor vehicle accidents during the wintery weather. At approximately 1300 units were dispatched to the area of Route 209 and Klinger Road for a reported vehicle into a utility pole. Engine 20 responded with 6 personnel and arrived to find one vehicle with front end damage. Crews assisted PSP and West End Garage with debris removal and traffic control. Utility crews from PP&L arrived quickly and repaired the wires that were knocked loose and replaced fuses. Crews cleared this call and were in the process of returning to the station when at 1357 there was a dispatch for a two vehicle accident on Route 147 south of Millersburg Tire Center. Engine 20, Rescue 21 were dispatched and Utility 20 added on with two to assist. Engine 20 arrived to find one patient confined in a vehicle due to damage. Upon assessment the box was held to Station 20 units. Crews preformed patient care and used the hydraulic spreaders to open the door for patient access and removal. The patient was transferred to EMS. While finishing up with operations on the Route 147 call, Engine 20 and Engine 26 were dispatched for a third accident on Route 25 in the area of Grange Hall Road. Engine and Utility 20 responded and upon arrival found one vehicle had struck a utility pole causing wires to drop low to the road. Engine 26 was placed in service. Comcast crews arrived and tied the wires up temporarily until PP&L replaces the pole. Crews assisted with traffic control and debris removal prior to opening the road and clearing the scene.
