Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 16:52, Company 20 was dispatched to our second call of the day on Brenda Drive in Upper Paxton Township. This time, the call was for a reported structure fire. The Engine and Truck were out in quick succession with Engine 21 enroute as well. Upon arrival Chief 20 (D. Snyder) had smoke showing from the basement windows and reports that the electric meter had been pulled prior to our arrival. The Engine crew immediately stretched a line to the basement while the truck crew picked up the Engine’s line to the hydrant as well as throwing ladders. The remaining truck crew assisted with overhaul on the interior of the structure. Engine 21’s crew was sent to side Bravo with Captain 20 (Grimm) to open up the siding of the structure where the heaviest smoke was showing. Upon removal, flames were discovered and a second line was pulled to extinguish that section. The fire was contained to the Bravo/Charlie corner where the electric service was located. Command asked for an upgrade but quickly had control and stood down the upgraded response. The crew from Engine 201 assisted with replacement for the initial attack crew as well as finding and pulling out the resident’s cat.
