The Millersburg Fire Company #1 was kept busy with responses that were the result of the wind storm that hit the area the evening of February 24 thru February 25. Units were dispatched during the period for tree’s on wires, tree’s on the roadway, and then one structural collapse.
The structure collapse was dispatched at approximately 1000 on Monday, February 25 calling for Station 20 and Rescue 21. Units were advised that the caller witnessed the roof blow off a barn located along State Route 25 and the subsequent collapse of the structure. Upon arrival Chief 20 found a 45′ x 100′ barn collapsed. A size up and discussion with the owner indicated that there were no people in the structure and all animals were outside or safely located in the lower livestock area. Chief 20 held the response to Engine 20. Utilities to the structure were secured and units were placed in service.
