The Millersburg Fire Company #1 responded to a total of 215 calls in 2017. Of those calls: 136 were Fire/Rescue; 69 were EMS related; and 10 were Officer in Charge calls. The fire company received Mutual Aid responses from other fire companies a total of 14 times and responded Mutual Aid 47 times. Firefighters gave a total of 1944.61 man/hours operating at calls and the average length of a call was 41 minutes and 52 seconds. The class that we responded to broken down by days of the week were: Saturday and Sundays-37 each; Monday-30; Tuesday and Friday-29 each; Wednesday-28; and Thursday-25. The top ten responders for the year were: 1. Fire Chief/EMT Doug Snyder -165; 2. Firefighter Vince Heckert-143; 3. Captain/EMT Sean Grimm-138; 4. Firefighter John Heckert-118; 5. Firefighter Branson Smith-117; 6. Firefighter/EMT Joe Smey-111; 7. 3rd Asst. Chief/Paramedic Colby Snyder-111; 8. Firefighter Terry Spotts-110; 9. Fire Police Captain Bob Sechler-102; 10. Firefighter Thomas Acker-97. Members of the fire company have spent hundreds of additional man/hours supporting the community with Fire Prevention Activities at the school, fire station tours, Cherry Blossom Festival, Tour de Millersburg support, Fire Works standby, etc. Hundreds of hours were also spent attending training activities to be better prepared to respond to emergencies. The Millersburg Fire Company #1 is 100% volunteer and is always looking for help.
